And I want to spill the tea and show you EXACTLY how I plan my YouTube videos to attract more clients and grow my business!

Yep, I’m breaking down my full client attraction strategy that I use on YouTube, from beginning to end.

This just so happens to be the exact process that has helped me scale my biz to 6 figures (and is what I teach inside of my course, The YouTube Lab!).

How to Attract Clients on YouTube

✅ Step one is to have a running list of topics.

I always have a running list of ideas that I add to every so often.

I like to keep a note in my phone so I can add ideas no matter where I’m at. I also add ideas from questions I get from clients.

However, I need a central place to keep all of my ideas that ISN’T in my notes app, cuz things get majorly lost in there. IYKYK. 😉

I organize all of my potential YouTube topics inside of my Monthly YouTube Video Tracker, which is a resource included in The YouTube Lab, so if you join, you’ll get instant access to it. You can totally take this concept and create your own tracker inside Google Sheets.

In the first tab, I add all of my YouTube ideas and highlight the ones I’ve actually completed.

This makes it super easy when I’m planning out my monthly content. I just look at this list of ideas and choose which ones I want to tackle that month.

👊 BOOM… easy!

I have a tab for each month of the year and I just copy and paste the ideas that I want to tackle for each month into that respective tab, that way it’s not just a big jumbled mess and it feels more approachable.

This makes things organized and easy to keep track of, which is key if you’re mult-passionate and creative like me and constantly have ideas flowing.

Once I’ve copied over the ideas that I want to make into videos that month, I go through and fill out all of the next columns.

✅ Next, you want to select what type of video is it going to be?

🎥 Expertise – focused on attraction and answering a very specific question for your audience.

🎥 Connection – focused on nurturing your existing audience.

🎥 Viral – takes advantage of trending topics to get a lot of eyes on your channel.

✅ Then, you have to consider the format of the video you want to create it in.

I have tons of formats that I teach you how to make inside The YouTube Lab so you can keep your visuals fresh, stay creative, and so your videos don’t always look the same.

But just so you know, even if you just set up your camera and talk to it in the same place in every video, that’s still an effective way to grow your business. 🙌

The next column is probably the most important to pay attention to.

✅ You need to choose which of your content pillars your video falls under.

When you’re looking at your month of content holistically, if you have too many of the same content pillar in the same month, I’d recommend rearranging your video order.

This is specifically because of the YouTube algorithm.

Let’s say I post 6 videos in a row about growing on YouTube. Now YouTube thinks that’s all I talk about, when in reality, I also talk about business, Instagram, video, creativity, and more.

✅ The next column is where I designate what my profitable link is.

This is a very important step for us as business owners. Your profitable link is the link that you will direct people to go to in that specific YouTube video.

For example, if I post a video doing a review on some video gear, my profitable link will be my affiliate links for them to buy those pieces of gear.

Or, if I’m talking about YouTube in my video, I’ll probably include a link for my signature course, The YouTube Lab.

So whatever your video topic is, if you have a product or a lead magnet that corresponds with it, that should be your profitable link.

🚨 Don’t skip this step. 🚨

THIS is going to make the difference between whether you just attract viewers or if you actually attract paying clients.

✅ The next column is your assigned upload date.

This is really valuable if you have a team who is helping you get things posted. For me personally, this column is kind of flexible (especially in the past few months of falling off the YouTube wagon while I was struggling with morning sickness and basically stationed on the couch).

You can be as strict with this as you’d like. Just do what works for you.

At this point, you’ve designated some very important things inside your YouTube video tracker.

✅Now you’re ready to start doing your keyword research and writing your scripts.

The next few columns help you keep track of your progress.

The SEO brief is a resource I walk you through inside The YouTube Lab.

I teach my students how to use Tube Buddy to find the best title that’s going to get you the most eyes on your content.

This step is called keyword research.

Once I’ve done my keyword research and chosen my title, I’ll write my script.

It’s important to do this step AFTER your keyword research because your topic idea might not be the same as your final title.

When you’re writing your YouTube script, it’s important to use a format that is specific to YouTube.

I teach you my exact formula inside The YouTube Lab, but here are a few takeaways:

👉 Start with a strong hook.

👉 Eliminate ANY fluff or industry jargon.

👉 Write how you talk.

When you finish your script, sit there and read the entire thing out loud.

Make sure it sounds like how you’d talk to your best friend, or how you’d speak to a client.

✅ The next step in the YouTube process is to write your YouTube description.

This acts as a mini-blog that is keyword optimized and helps your video to pop up into search.

This is how you get views, so optimization is very important! 🙌

And that’s the end of the planning phase, my friend.

✅ Now you’re ready to film, edit and post your video.

I like to keep track of my video status in the very first column of the tracker. You can mark that it’s in filming, editing, ready to be posted, etc. This is another column that is really useful if you have a team, or even if you’re just a solopreneur and you want to keep track of where each video is in the process.

✅ And one final step…

Once the month has ended, if there are any videos that I didn’t finish, I go in and add them to the next month.

This keeps everything clean and helps me stay on track.
